I’ve actually subscribed to betting against your team for years, using the following method – How much would you pay to see them win?
For example, if it’s worth $50 to me to see the Sounders beat Houston then I’ll bet $50 on Houston. If the Sounders win, I got the victory I was ‘buying’ in the first place. If Houston wins, I get a refund plus some extra $ for the beer I need to feel better.
