Joseph’s second goal irked coach Sigi Schmid. Jeff Larentowicz lofted a pass from just inside midfield to Joseph who was alone in the left side of the box. Joseph snapped off a header that beat Kasey Keller in the 87th minute.
“We made a mistake at the end of the game,” Schmid said. “We got caught ball watching and that’s unforgivable.
“I was disappointed with not marking up on Shalrie Joseph. It was something you could see coming. We know who the guys are that are going to head the ball in. You’ve got to make sure you mark up on those guys but we fell asleep.”
